Carmen Bustamante has been a Parks and Power organizer since 2021 working to build economic and racial equity in the Minneapolis parks system alongside her team and community members. Prior to this role, Carmen graduated from Macalester College in 2018 and was a youth worker specializing in health education and youth social entrepreneurship programs. She loves to be active and was part of the Bici Xicas biking collective in 2020-2021, where she learned valuable bike mechanic skills that she has shared with the community through bike mechanic engagement pop-ups in the parks. Carmen is passionate about ensuring that young people are heard in city-wide decision-making processes and that their leadership is valued when they are at the table.
